Electrical Engineer
ProSafe Inc. is an engineering firm providing industrial safety system review and compliance evaluations on machinery and processes to satisfy the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Standards for both Canada and the U.S. Our evaluations include risk assessments, machine guarding audits, safety control systems including safety PLC's, Pre-Start Health and Safety review (Canada), arc flash hazard assessments, hazardous area classification for flammable & explosive materials, confined space assessments, and industrial storage rack safety. All ProSafe employees become CMSE® - Certified Machinery Safety Experts or FSE - Functional Safety Experts (TUV Nord) through specialized training.
We are currently offering an exciting career opportunity in Michigan for Electrical Engineers. Specialized training will be provided.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Electrical Engineer is responsible for:
Review draft reports using supporting documentation provided with each report. Conduct field inspections. Collect and review drawings and manufacturer specifications. Conduct and document risk assessments. Inform clients of the recommendations, actions and, corrections that are required. Inspect equipment for compliance. Test machinery for ability to perform safety functions. Prepare final reports.
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
A degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited US College or University (New or recent grads welcome). Experience in design of electrical safety circuits and knowledge of various safety PLC programs is an asset. ANSI standards, OSHA standards and NFPA 70 knowledge would be considered an asset. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work independently and in a team atmosphere. High degree of problem solving and decision making skills. Willingness to travel across the United States. US Citizen with valid passport required.
